Tales of Two Fans: Kimerald and Marian Rivera

The entertainment tabloid Bulgar is really a must-read every morning because it is informative. These reactions from Kimerald and Marian Rivera fans continue to prove what I think about some rabid fans.

According to a Kimerald fan, there is a conspiracy to break up the globally famous loveteam of Kim Chui and Gerald Anderson. Apparently, TPTB (the powers that be) at the Kapamilya network is moving heaven and earth to sign up Kim and Gerald in teleseryes, variety shows and movies without the other. ABS-CBN is not aware of it, but the fans are onto them, added the well-meaning fan.

All these maneuverings started after Sarah Geronimo, whom the fan called a starlet, let it known that "gustong matikman [ni Sarah] este makapareha si Gerald." Matikman is the fan's word, not mine.

First of all, I would think that Gerald Anderson would not be the first person or thing that Sarah would want to taste. In Cristy Fermin's column there's this giveaway blind item about a young actress/singer who can't eat ice cream, chocolates and manggang hilaw na sinawsaw sa bagoong.

The young star's mother is to blame for the ban on these foods because the foods are not good for the young singer's voice. The young actress singer is also banned from going to gimmick barkada by her loving mother.

Seems the mother skipped the word "moderation" while browsing the dictionary. She focused instead on the words "investment" "cash cow" and "meal ticket."

Second, if Sarah Geronimo is a starlet, what do you call a young star who has yet to have sold-out concerts, box-office hits, albums selling like hotcakes and the title Box Office Queen? Starletini?

As for the Kimerald fans, they have truly imbibed the true meaning of the word "business sense." Well, the millions and millions of Kimerald fans all over the world are there to support all the endeavors of their well-loved couple. So it follows that un-breaking Kimerald makes business sense.

Okay, enough of Kimerald fans and business sense.

On the second story, which involved a Marian Rivera fan. The fan commented that Kim Chui is baduy, in terms of clothes and accessories. Kim buys hers in Divisoria while Marian's are all branded.

Admittedly, I don't follow Kim Chui but the few times I saw her guest on variety shows I don't find her baduy manamit. Let's admit it. Kim Chui with her super thin body, and if she were a few inches taller, would be the envy of anorexic models prancing along the catwalks of New York and Paris who have to munch on ice cubs for lunch and quiet their hunger pangs with cigarettes to maintain their svelte look.

And what is wrong with clothes and accessories from Divisoria? In this kind of economy? I would like to believe even well-paid actors and actresses are not immune. Someone should tell this fan that he/she just insulted a whole community of Divisoria shoppers.

As for Marian Rivera's all-branded things, she's probably making up for her baduy na pananalita. Admit it, it doesn't go with her Spanish mestiza look. Once you hear Marian talk, you'd wish she had stayed silent. Okay, okay, her speech pattern is the result of her born and raised in Cavite. But why is being a palengkera/palaban something to be proud of if you come from Cavite? I'm just musing. Not being a jeluz h8tr, or anything.

By the way, I don't dislike Marian. I just like Marian and Dingdong.

Kim Chui. Well, I didn't know I was rooting for Mickey Lee in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition until after Lauren Dyogi started manipulating situations in the "reality show" to push for the what is now known as the "Kimerald" loveteam. I had to quit the show towards the end because it was becoming so goshdarn predictable: a young girl caught in the admiration of two guys - the boy next door and the geek.

Of course, the boy next door won. Only in Judd Apatow movies do geeks kick pretty boys' asses.

Hey what's with this generalization about cavitenios? Not all of them are like this palengkera! PinayPie, i think you should meet my mother_in_law,baka ipagpalit mo mother-in-law mo pagnakilala mo sya. Duh, in every place there'll always be this bad apple-isa na si saykologi dun. She only has the face. And it stops there. No pedigree. No finesse. No delicadeza. No brains. No manners. Bakya! I can't believe i'm saying this, yeah, bakya! Not jeluz much, just my two cents.

  4. Anony: no generalization. I'm good friends with people from Cavite and they're good people. :)
